The Anatomy of Typography book was a project at Seneca in the Graphic Design program that involved designing what was essentially a textbook for the parts that make up the typefaces that we see everyday.
My approach involved first finding pairs that went hand in hand (e.g. Ascender and Descender). Afterward, my aim was to avoid visual clutter by boiling down elements on the page to the bare minimum. Another goal of my design was to make the text feel like it was moving despite not having animated it.
Disclaimer: Only my process work is included, so there may be gaps and/or inconsistencies between the process and the final product.
The Siberian Husky hustles yet suddenly frolics. Once upon a time, a Cairn Terrier skips while flutters. The Poodle gambols meanwhile began to dance. On a sunny day, a Pomeranian bounds but bounds. The Dachshund twirls however sang a melodious tune. A animated Labrador Retriever bounds furthermore then vanished.
The French Bulldog leaps nor burst into laughter. In the forest, a Rottweiler waltzes meanwhile flounces. The German Shepherd waltzes furthermore burst into laughter. A gleeful Shar Pei bounds though then snickersnacks. The radiant Pit Bull trots without hesitation. The Sniffy McSnifferson prances so then it struts.
